THE CITY OF HARTWELL ISSUED THE 2016 PROPERTY TAX ON DECEMBER 7, 2016. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE WAS AN OVERSIGHT AND THE RETURN ENVELOPE HAS THE WRONG ADDRESS. THE RETURN ENVELOPE HAS 500 E. HOWELL STREET, WHICH IS THE OLD CITY HALL ADDRESS INSTEAD OF THE CURRENT ADDRESS OF 456 E. HOWELL STREET. WE KNOW MANY OF YOU WANT YOUR TAXES PROCESSED WITH A 12/31/16 DATE TO HAVE FOR YOUR END OF YEAR TAX DEDUCTIONS. IF YOU HAVE TRIED TO SEND YOUR BILL AND IT WAS RETURNED DUE TO THE INCORRECT ADDRESS, THE CITY OF HARTWELL WILL HONOR YOUR POSTMARK AND WILL ALSO PROCESS YOUR BILL OVER THE PHONE WITH A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD WITH NO TRANSACTION FEE. YOU MAY ALSO DROP OFF YOUR PAYMENT IN OUR CONVENIENT DRIVE-THRU OR PUT IN OUR OVERNIGHT DEPOSIT. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND REST ASSURED THE ERROR HAS BEEN CORRECTED FOR FUTURE PURPOSES. PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE AT 706-376-4756 WITH ANY CONCERNS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM.
